My 3 x non-negotiables when I’m healing

For those of you who are not already aware I’ve worked my way into feeling physical and mental ease + comfort through A LOT of painful conditions + injuries with my body ~ from born with hip dysplasia (wearing callipers my first 4yrs and told I’d never run) + joint hypermobility, bringing on knee dislocations (3 surgeries, screws + donor ligament replacements), Sacro-iliac Dysfunction, Scoliosis, lumbar Spondylolisthesis (vertrabral/disc slippage), frozen shoulder, broken ribs + bones, whiplashes, neck and wrist issues plus several abdominal + organ surgeries ~ often due to complete lack of core + pelvic floor strength.

Many see me in movement, or how I look, and think it came easily…. I can assure you it didn’t, but totally worth all the effort.  I live without any discomfort or restriction in my body and have done so for many years.  It’s simply become a way of life + the way I choose to be, so yes NOW it is easy + the rewards are life changing. The healing journey is not an easy one, but now with plenty of practice so far with the below non-negotiables I feel I can move through whatever comes my way.

I love sharing this focus with others because healing is available to everyone of us, and freedom in the BODY is freedom in the MIND which has led me to LIVING WHOLLY + doing whatever it is I choose to.  

Here are my 3 non-negotiables for HEALING;

  1. GIFT YOUR BODY LOVING ATTENTION ~ consider every niggle, condition, accident or injury and tune in (with a loving dialogue) to see what your body is asking for.  Is it movement/activation or rest?  Where do I need to adjust my choices/actions? Consider the body as a barometer for the Soul’s messages and guidance. Never push through painful conditions with frustration of being restricted doing what you think you ‘should’ be doing.  Whether it’s losing weight, working hard or whatever you are busy trying to do instead of listening to the messages of the body.  LOVE every message your body has for you, speak lovingly to it and apply the time + attention it’s asking for.  Once you have loved + listened all else falls into place, until then it’s really hard going!

  2. TAKE ABSOLUTE RESPONSIBILITY FOR EVERY COMPLAINT THE BODY GIVES YOU, this gives you your power back.  It’s certainly not easy, especially when it is an injury or accident where we can point the finger and blame someone or an experience. Nothing is caused by what is outside of ourselves, we create every experience we have.  As we move through our lives every Yes, every No and every ‘non-decision’ has led to each experience and the resulting circumstances.  Receiving them as a gift, an opportunity to make change + improvement by asking ‘how can I heal’, what needs to be changed?  Trust me miracles DO occur in the body.  When we blame another (ie hereditary ‘that’s in our family’ or a situation) the condition is ongoing and hangs around.  I’ve seen so many take responsibility for horrendous experiences and rise up more empowered because of it. For many of my students with conditions hanging about for long periods of time, I’ve observed the unimaginable occur when they chose to own their experience AND their body’s ability to heal + move beyond it.   We need to have the courage to move through whatever it is we are holding onto as to why the condition or incident occurred in the first place. Our body is incredible at healing when we commit to and give it permission to do so!

  3. BELIEVE YOU WILL HEAL because you know others have from possibly far more incredible situations (read Warrior Pose ~ Brad Willis will tell you!) so your body can too.   There was nothing special about them that isn’t about you!  Don’t let any other outside of you, not a Doctor, not a Healer, have any authority over what only you can make possible for yourself.  Allow the time necessary without an end date to heal. Decide there is no rush because the end result when you allow the healing will be worth however long it takes.  In fact these experiences have given true meaning for me that is the journey not the destination that is the gift.   I have had many Drs tell me a condition I’ve had symptoms for is unchangeable, as you can see they were wrong.  In the past I have relied on ‘healers’ and now finally realise it’s all within me.  It’s only possible when I choose to heal, not when another applies ‘healing’ to me.  In saying that I’ve also had wonderful Drs and Healers who have transitioned the way for me to know I can heal and guiding me to do what I’ve needed to physically and emotionally to make it happen. I’ve made huge life-changing decisions because of my body’s messages, I’ve thrived from every one of them. So can you!
