What is Yoga to you?
How would you answer? For me it is summed up in three words;
whole ~ being ~ care
For my part as a Yoga teacher I consider myself merely a guide, a voice to take students away from the distractions and stressors of the outer world and flurry of thoughts, into feeling the physical body, into observing the emotional responses behind the thought patterns as they recur.
The more we practice Yoga we gain an intimate understanding of the inner workings of our mind + body. As we train ourselves to look at the root of how life's stressors affect the mind, and in turn the body, we are synergistically healing our entire being. It is then that we disassociate from the ongoing game of merely treating our symptoms and we embrace ourselves as whole - energy + matter. We harness our innate ability to endure and heal.
My hope as a teacher is for those I come into contact with fall in love with Yoga as a way of achieving a strong body, mind and connection to self or spirit.
Is your being feeling 'whole'? Any symptoms are reminders to stop, listen and regroup. Take some time on your mat with me - see below my online suggestions or email me so I can recommend more suitable practices for you.
